Anxiety

As well as our human rational brains that enable us to think clearly and constructively, we also have old primal emotion circuits in the brain that can lead us to feel fear when we don't need to be feeling it.

Our ancient primal brains can make us feel overly afraid of the judgements of others, heights, flying, spiders, public speaking, going on dates, making mistakes, and much else.

When you look at how we've evolved, you realise it's not our fault that we get anxious in the modern world. After all, we didn't choose to have the brains we have. However, our brains also have the ability to learn and change how they respond.

I can show you the mindsets and the exercises needed to massively reduce and sometimes totally eliminate anxieties, fears and doubts. And this can often happen a lot quicker than people think.

there's actually loads you can do that makes a difference. You have much more influence than you realise, and it can be hugely liberating and confidence boosting to learn how to drop old worries and doubts.

Phobias

Believe it or not, we can form a phobia or irrational fear around almost anything.

I've helped people with phobias of frogs, picture of holes, and the feeling of their own pulse, as well as much more common things like spiders, flying and dogs.

Phobias can be formed by a single negative experience of something, a gradual dislike that builds across time, or sometimes by being around someone with a phobia and learning it from them.

However a phobia is learned, it is possible for the brain to switch off the old fear response leaving you free of your old feelings and concerns.

Anger

There is no such thing as an "angry person", just a person who has got stuck in a way of thinking that triggers their anger circuits more than they would like. 

You have anger circuits in your brain that are millions of years old that were once very helpful for your survival. But in the modern world those same circuits can also be updated to switch off in moments you don't need them.

Alastair has helped me with upper back pain which started about 15 years ago. At that time I went to see an osteopath who I felt made it worse. I had three sessions with Alastair earlier this year, mainly to try to tackle my flying phobia, which has unfortunately become more prevalent in recent years. Alastair Hill is an expert in helping people make changes to long-standing psychological stresses. He first began his journey into psychological change in 2008 after suffering from depression and social anxiety for many years. After turning his own life around through exploration of different methods, he discovered a natural talent for helping others resolve their own inner struggles. He has worked extensively with individuals both in his private practice and through the charity Rock2Recovery where he has helped hundreds of military veterans and currently serving members of the British military to find lasting relief from psychological stress.
